Lewis Berkshire: Lewis was dividing his attention, not that he looked it, except for the tense line of his shoulders, straining slightly at the seams of his well tailored jacket. As old as he seemed, he appeared quite hale and hearty despite the silver hair. He continued to monitor the room and its occupants, scanning new arrivals for any notable looks or auras that could be sensed by his mastery of such insights, though mostly focusing on the elegant nightmare of a problem on stage. He was far less enthused about finding several beings of chaos here already. He preferred trouble caused under his direct control. But regardless he could not help but spare some of his roaming awareness towards Vedis and her soft delight as if everything was new to her. Perhaps in some ways, it was not surprising that was the case...and would be again soon enough. For now however he wanted to enjoy her sweetness and the entertainment on offer in this strange intriguing place. When Vedis acquired the golden glowing drink however, he stared at
Lewis Berkshire: it as if he hadn't ever seen such a thing before, before his unreadable mask fell back into familiar scowling lines. He tipped his head near to his companion's however to whisper warm in her ear so she could hear him over the murmur of the crowd and charismatic music being belted out on stage, "Have you ever tried it? Do you want to try together?" His words were a teasing purr suddenly under his faint accent. That treacherous flicker in his thoughts, the sheer reckless whims that could overtake him with no warning. This was one of those times. All his careful scoping of this venue might all fall into stardust and chaos with just one glimmering sip....
Ezekiel Coyn "Alchemist!? OH WOW That's so awesome! " he paused then. Looking to her and whispering, "what's an alchemist?" He had forgotten the term, but he wasn't going to say that as loudly. As if he would forget anything! Never! Nay! Not him! "OH YEAH that would help huh. Uh.. I um... " he scratched at his head a bit with those decorative claws of his. Shoot what was the address? "OH RIGHT We're staying with this really big tall fella with eyes that would make a succubi jealous. Blondie!" That wasn't his name, but that's how he remembered him at least. Not to mention they were only staying there part of the time. The other half was with the self-proclaimed flesheater. Dangerous either way you looked at for many varying reasons. "Can you get.. exotic fruits too!? " he questioned with glittering eyes. However, the shift in topic to the school drew him most crious. "Intense? Intense like dangerous intense?" he questioned worriedly. Absolutely not! He would not let his brother get hurt again! He'd almost lost
Ezekiel Coyn once! "A professor??? You must be very smart. We're going to be students because we're stupid at some things. " he noted.
Hector: walked from next door and headed down to the Cabaret. Was nothing new or different for him, really. Except it was a Friday and as he went to enter a trickle ran across his skin. The bouncer stopped him and he quirked a brow. "Since when?" He huffed and stepped around, getting a nice jolt that confused the heck out of that poor Ward. He let out a grunt, stuck where he was as large wings unfurled behind him, his glamour forced to drop. He grit his teeth, nostrils flaring and eyes turning black. "Oiy! Tell Roesler either let me in or kick me the fuck out, but don't leave me literally hanging! here all damned night. Am I good enough to drink 'ere tonight or not??" Hector has not had a good night and this is not making it better.
Niles Roesler (ohsoincoherently) started into something more mellow, making way for leaving the stage to take care of logistics for the refreshments. There were blood dolls and automaton-charging stations... and they absolutely let Hector in, considering some of the staff could see the gaggle of ghosts that hung around the guy like lost kittens.
November Morsus ducks his great, horned head as he dips his towering head, finding it just a bit of a struggle to get his frame through the door. But such was the price of dropping one's mask in a world which was not meant for your kind... A shake of his head, a small sigh. Really. He was supposed to be trying to relax and enjoy himself, not getting all bogged down in /that/ kind of thought. He was going to relax, enjoy himself, listen to some nice music, and-...
He caught sight of the man on the stage, and froze. Dark eyes glazed over, his hands drooping a bit but held in a sort of suspended animation. It was as if someone had found some hidden off switch, and flicked it, only to switch it back a moment or two later, dazed blinks pulling November back to the land of the living. "Bloody Hell.... I, think I need a drink," he murmured softly to himself, before heading over to the bar to do just that.
Vedis Boyd rolled the shot of aetherite between her palms nervously as she watches that soft golden glow in that glass like it were treasure. She was nestled into Lewis' arms on the couch, far to close for propriety, but then they were in a caberet. Surely the Windgraces wouldn't mind her loosening up ~here~ of all places. When she looks up to Lewis her eyes seemed to carry some of that golden light, fading as she blinks it away. The music was loud enough to wash out the conversations around them but when he leaned forward to whisper in her ear her smile grew. She holds the glass between her fingers, offering him the first sip. Such power in a glass... she assumed sips were all one needed. "I've never had it." she murmurs, laughter in her voice. "But I'm sure it's fine. They wouldn't serve it if it wasn't... surely." The woman putting a lot of trust into the underground bar. She blinks, hearing Hector and turns to look towards his voice, just in time to see November step past. The night crowd finally picking up. She
Vedis Boyd turns back to Lewis, that wild power cupped in her hands, and her own glamor shimmers in it's presence, her own golden glow growing brighter, the tips of her ears showing. A hint of the creature beneath.
Niles Roesler (ohsoincoherently) almost seem to feel that look from November though. He stared rather deliberately as he stepped off stage, raising a little wineglass to the horned figure before sauntering backstage to tend to some things.
Quin Li (riven.rowe): Sneaking into places isn’t very hard when you are itty. It’s the bust that usually gives you away. If you can’t keep it contained? The sparkle can attract attention. Eli zips his way into the underground Cabaret, having overheard some people talking about it whilst looking for his brother. Keeping up toward the ceiling and away from he crowd below, he pretends that he is one with the shadows. That no one can see him. HE IS NOT THERE. Cause he can’t pull the shadows around him right now. The plebs out there see an insect when he zips by. Usually. No one wants to actually admit that they saw a little man, no bigger than a hand’s with darting around on gossamer wings. Fluttering across the stage, but higher up, he hovers and looks out over all the people gathered.
Dinah (dollihead) tapped her finger to her glass as she listened to the music, she grinned at Ezekiels' whisper.
"An alchemist is...basically making things out of other things. with magic." she explained lamely. The deep potentialities of her craft would be lost on the pixie, and it would be crass to try and make her companion feel inadequate. She sipped her drink "...blonde, tall, and lovely eyes describes far too many people in this city, I find" she tittered, but she nodded. "mm. my brother could. we had some avocados not long ago.I don't particularly care for them, but they were terribly popular. As far as the school being dangerous.. I suppose if you are careful, it should be mostly safe. Some lessons are likely to be more dangerous than others." she finished her drink and gestured for a third. She grinned though and she laughed, reaching out to pat Ezekiel on his fluffy arm.
"Everyone is stupid at something, darling. that's why we have teachers"
Dorian (alexandros.lycomedes)'s sister had left word where she'd be, and so the younger brother had bugged the elder, pulled, pleaded and annoyed Drystan into joining him. Who better to keep him out of trouble. Once they were down the ladder the stairs and breaking through the doors, he was tapping on his big brother's shoulder in time to a song that was not even being played. He was remarking, "--r aside, you are going to love this place."
He beelined his way inside looking for the face that would light up any room for him. He did let Drystan's sleeve go though. Eventually. Once he set his eyes on on his sister the invisible thread between them snapped taut and he drifted directly to her in order to take up a spot at her side. Get a drink, make merry. Grin smugly.
Hector: does indeed have a ton of ghosts around him. He also has a new strange aura around him. For those that were sensitive to such things, there's just this big glowy five pointed star on him now. He absolutely throbs with the energy of the beyond. He's like a walking Gate to the Next Life. To those who are very in-the-know, it's Onmyoji Magic. He has learned a specific kind of Exorcism. It's quite blessed, very divine. It's like every time Hector goes somewhere and comes back he's got MORE magic. But deep in his veins is mortality. For all that power, he's a squishy human that can and will die. ZIP! Something fluttered past him. He assumes that was some sort of Pixie. He's seen ton in Roesler's employ. He makes for the bar, nodding to Dinah, Dorian and November. "Hello there Doctor. Nice to see you somewhere that we're not having things thrown at us." He smiled brightly around a cigarette and then hesitated to order anything. He wanted a beer so badly, but wasn't sure if he should.
Drystan Windgrace (jacksonn.shepherd) made his way in, as he'd done a million times over, weaving his way through crown, a hushed "Pardon, excuse me" as he passed people and...things. Wings, glitter, fur in odd places, well maybe this wasn't exactly what he was used to, but getting from point a to point b was simple enough. Once he sat his ass on a couch, he exhaled, looking past him back at the bar, catching eyes with Dinah a moment and giving her a glittering smile before popping the joint in his mouth and sitting back looking for his little brother. Well fuck him sideways. There goes sticking together. He huffed and took a big long draw and watched as whatever it was on stage disapearred behind the curtain.
Lewis Berkshire: Lewis notably relaxed once Roseler exited stage left for now. His attention roved instead to study the newcomers more closely and whatever he could glean with his Sight into them all. But he did not actually turn his head to look at anyone, deeming it safer for now to keep such observations subtle and remote. But still Vedis offered him a glowing soft temptation and the swirling glint of the drink in her hand unfortunately intrigued his curiosity too far to be held back by prudence any longer. And so he shared a secret smile with her and sought to wrap his long elegant fingers around hers cupping the glass, warm amber light bleeding through the gaps of her fingers to illuminate the hint of her own shimmer, her ears, her glamor starting to slip. He was torn, he always wanted to see her in her full glory...but not where others could see unless he knew them well. The same applied to him, but there was liquid enchantment to taste...and so he had to be true to his own nature at last, seeking to guide Vedis' cup
Lewis Berkshire: to his lips for just a taste....just one taste. What could possibly go wrong?
November Morsus was in the midst of ordering a glass of the bar's strongest absinthe when that /look/ shot through him, electrified, causing him to pause for a moment, shake his head, rub his brow. So he was a little spaced out when he heard the friendly voice of Hector, causing him to startle a bit, nearly spill his drink in shock. "Oh! Oh, hello Hector dear, a pleasure to see you in, calmer environs, as well..." Despite the familiar and friendly face, he seemed if anything more apprehensive, keeping up a brave face, but the tremble in his long dark fingers was damn near impossible not to spot. "Your, wings, they look... Lovely...." And here he stood, all horn and tooth and claw when he could /feel/ the energy rolling off Hector, know that this was one of the only people with the power to truly end his un-life. "How have things, been dear?"
Ezekiel Coyn "Oh! I can do that! I can make ash out of wood!" He declared with a grin. "With magiccc." fire magic of course, but he said it like it should be obvious. Ezekiel turned his gaze toward the others approaching the bar and he stared toward the one with horns in particular. Especially at the large horns on his head. "Wow those are huge!" he declared only to look back to Dinah. "Yes, but this blonde hottie has an evil cat the size of a boat!" he declared holding his arms out as if somehow this would show the size of the feline properly. Mind you he was tiny when he'd encountered the feline. "Avacados??? I do not think i have not had an avadcados before. What does it taste like? " he wondered. Ezekiel looked distressed hearing that the school could be dangerous. "I will have to stick close to Elijah while he attends then. " He noted with a firm nod. "I took my eyes off of him for a few hours one night and he flew away to get honey from some lady !" he declared. The pat to his arm caused him to grin. "Ye
Ezekiel Coyn we do! And you're going to be one too so thank you!" he chimed. He would then look to the handsome fellow that joined his company so suddenly with a curious stare. "Your hair reminds me of sunshine!" He told the fellow. Watching as another sat on the couch. "That one looks upset. " He glanced back noticing the fellow with the feathered wings then. "Oh! your wings have feathers! NEAT" he added stuffing more berries from his pocket into his own mouth.
Dinah (dollihead) turned as her brother neared her, immediately enraptured by his presence, turning to press a kiss to his cheek. "Dorian, dear heart! come, come drink with us. This is Ezekiel. He's a twin too, isn't that splendid? Ezekiel, this is my twin dorian. Good evening, Hector love~" she wiggled her fingers in a friendly wave.
catching sight of Drystan, however, she straightened in surprise and she wiggled out from between the stool and her twin, scooting along to behind her elder brother.
"Sweetheart. it's good to see you" she purred, pressing a kiss to his temple and giving him a brief embrace over his shoulders "come join us when you're ready~" she gave his arm a squeeze before she sauntered back to her little gathering and her martini. "an evil cat the size of a boat" she echoed Ezekiels' words. "that does sound splendid, though. And an avocado tastes... like green. Mushy green" she tittered.
Drystan Windgrace (jacksonn.shepherd) waved the smoke away when Dinah approached, kissing him and giving him a hug. He replied with a deep grunt and nodded, flicking the cherry into his hand since there were no standing ashtrays...whatever, he flopped it over o the ground and crushed it in with what dust, glitter and scales might already be there.
Dorian (alexandros.lycomedes) did mean to stick to the plan. But booze and Dinah talking to some... man with glittering wings distracted him. He'd wrap his knuckles on the bar and chuck a thumb at himself, then hold up two fingers to indicate how many of his usual he wanted. He slipped a hand upon his sister's back and kissed the side of her head. He'd turn to Hector, giving him a smile and a nod while awaiting his pours. Ezekiel was treated to a smile while Dinah went to speak to their brother, and a quiet, very English accented, "Pleasure, I am sure."
Quin Li (riven.rowe): It’s the sound of his brother’s voice more than actually catching sight of Zeke that has Eli zipping along the cieling toward the bar. He flutters and swerves to avoid the chandelier then dives down toward a table between two chairs. This probably makes him waaay more noticeable, but some of the people look more interesting than he does so he is fairly confidant, sorta, that it will be fine. Right? Fine. Only, he slips on the glass and crashes into the metal ice bucket. That goes flying and then crashes on the ground, ice scattering across the floor. The little pixie man kneels and sends a wide eyed look about, flinching a little when someone slips on a bit of ice. His wings rub against one another and a fall of pixie dust poofs up about him then slowly drifts down.
Vedis Boyd drops her gaze to those lips as they curled into a secret smile, letting him guide her hands so that he may take a sip. She smiles softly, meeting those emerald eyes behind the sheen of his glasses. She sees Drystan flop on the couch out of the corner of her eye and looks to him to give him a small wave from across the room. Oh, and Dorian was here too? Goodness, almost the entire family was here tonight! She turns her attention back to that drink and brings it to her lips, her eyes closing as she feels that cold rush of the aetherite shot flow into the pit of her belly. She licks her lips, shivering, as it flows down her extremities, that rush that causes her heart to leap in her chest, lips parting as a golden cloud of light slips from her lips like smoke. Only then seeing the pixie crash to the floor. She blinks confusion playing across her face. Her glamor holding, but only because of the power of the man next to her. She coughs lightly, shaking her head.
Hector: extends a wing November's direction. He doesn't seem upset at the idea the other might want to touch them. Quite the opposite. He enjoyed having them touched. Their newness meant they were often sore and even just a brush felt good. "You know..." He said dipping his head, giving November a gentle expression. "You don't have to be afraid of me. I realize it's easy to do..." He shuffled a little. "People have been afraid of me, ever since I was little. When I was just a baby I would...find dead things, like worms and ladybugs and when I'd touch them they'd come to life. They were my friends." He said it with earnest a twinkle in his eye. "Of course...not so nice to older individuals. That's when my parents started calling me The Devil." Heavy sigh. "I'd never hurt you on purpose and it's quite easy not to do on accident...I just...will keep my hands to myself. That's a respectful thing to do anyways. So...relax, I'm not going to like...do anything to you." And to punctuate, he shoved his
Hector: black-stained hands into his pockets. That kept him for asking for a glass anyways. Win/Win. Then he snorted and looked to Dinah. "Avocados are amazing. I'll put them on pretty much anything if one lets me." PIXIE CRASH! Blinks towards a black ice explosion with a quirk of a brow. "Careful there Little One."
Drystan Windgrace (jacksonn.shepherd) is watching the little pixie bumble itself around when he catches Vedis' little smile and he gives her one in exchange. At least she didnt have wings, or her partner. But...nothing was at it ever seemed, but he just sat back, pinching and rolling the smoke around in his fingers, just watching people, the oldest past time in the world.
November Morsus couldn't help but blush as his ears caught Ezekiel's comment, chortling softly behind his hand. "I, um, thank you?" He'd grown and molded the horns by his own hand, though the glittering halo that had appeared one day behind them, that, he still wasn't quite sure what to make of. "You've a lovely set of wings yourself," he purred, before a crashing noise made him start, lean over, blinking wide and curious eyes at the commotion. "Are you, quite alright there, sir?" He was about to go and see if he could assist, when Hector's voice, soft and a little melancholic, stopped him in his tracks. "They... Called you the Devil?" One hand raised to his heart, eyes welling with sympathy. "I suppose I've not got much to fear then, I've been called that so long that, well, et voila, it's precisely what I appear to have become." A soft little chuckle, a sweeping gesture of his spindly hands. "I'm sorry for doubting you, dear, I just... Felt a shift in the air, an energy I've come to associate more with those who would
November Morsus could end a being like me, rather than be an ally or a friend. But... One so kind as you to the small, crawling creatures of the earth, well, energy or no, that's a true friend indeed." As he spoke his body relaxed, and he offered Hector a wide, fang-filled smile.
Lewis Berkshire: Lewis wasn't suddenlly not paying attention to anything or anyone else other than the lovely lady in front of him and the glass of liquid gold ambrosia she tipped upon his lips. He barely retained a threadbare amount of caution, forcing himself to only take that promised sip, just one taste.....But the cool rush of that concentrated magic drink spread through him so dizzy and fast he could only bite back a gasp, blinking behind the shields of his lenses as he fought to contain his response, his glamour control threatening to slip his leash like an unruly beast....He hadn't realized just how much the energy sources here affected him until this very moment when the aetherite concoction crossed his tongue. He swallowed carefully, tightening his grip on Vedis on reflex....but he had more than himself to safeguard here, his glamour covering her as well and frankly a small area around him, to ensure noone except master levels of power could peer into his secrets or hers until he chose to reveal them. But the
Lewis Berkshire: warmth seeping into his interior was so distracting, intoxicating, unwinding strand by strand his sense of decorum and caution in this room full of monsters...Yet he craved more of that elixir suddenly, much like he craved that golden honey right here in his grasp....The look he gave Vedis now only she might see, see that dangerous dark gleam in his vivid eyes, wordless, demanding, *hungering*....Perhaps staying here much longer might be....unwise.
Ezekiel Coyn turned his attention toward the introduced one and a bright smile beamed across his features. He might as well have been born a lighthouse with how he beamed. "Hello Dorian! other twin of Dinah!" he declared cheerfully. "I mean other twin! Twin to dinah! Yeah that's it!" he declared with a cheerful tone. Though he watched as she ran of to greet her brother with a curious stare. Both of her brothers were here! that was awesome! "Mushy green?" He said curiously. "I don't know how i feel about that! I must try the avacados before i decide!" he noted. "Oh not yet! I am sure one day though!" he declared with a wink toward Dorian. "You're welcome horny one!" he declared toward november. Of course meaning literally horned one, but it was Ezekiel. Though his gaze would flick toward the sound of ice scattering to the floor. Only then would he spot the tiny form of his brother, or rather, he first saw the poof of pixie dust. "Elijah!" he declared toward his twin as he rushed over toward him to scoop him up into
Ezekiel Coyn hands. "Are you okay !? I'm so sorry. I should have paid attention! You're not hurt are you? Are you cold? " he would look at his brother with a doting and worried gaze.
Dinah (dollihead) chuckled a little at Drystans' grunt, and when she returned to Dorian's side, she wrapped her arm round his. This time when she gestured for a drink, it'd be champagne, and she'd send another glass of it towards drystan. The little pixie spilling himself against the ground made her wince "oh dear. someone's drunk already?" she winced, though at Hectors' words, she shook her head with an impish smile. "I am sorry, but we can no longer be friends" she teased. "or, i suppose that just means you get my share" she added with a casual shrug. The tall, horned gentleman that Hector was speaking to was given a friendly, if curious smile and a brief "hello~"
Ezekiels' excitable greeting of Dorian made her smile and she squeezed her brothers' arm, chuckling lightly. "ah, your brother too? the twin takeover, of the club~"
Quin Li (riven.rowe): Eli gives Hector an abashed look. He didn’t mean to knock the ice bucket over.. but he still wasn’t fully himself. Not really even a fraction himself, yet. The effort to fly without the dace of shadows around him took more effort. The illness he’d ah.. suffered, had taken his physical strength. He was sapped in more than one way.. and pulling off a dainty landing was just beyond him. He lifts his arms before him to eye the bruises that he’d just painted over his forarms in that crash, then glances up and looks around at he people gathered ‘round. The little man keeps his mouth shut but he lifts his hand to his heart and bows his head to anyone who looks his way. And apology of sorts – the motion exaggerated to be seen. And then the pixie is swooped up into Zeke’s hands. The little man spreads his wings and settles into a kneel, looking up at his brother’s face as he is lifted closer. Eli is always cold. Where his brother is fire and light? This brother is cold and darkness. His magics lean
Quin Li (riven.rowe): toward the stary night and unmentionable things. It marks him – he carries shades of shadow with him broken by the sparkle of his dust as it falls in dark galaxy around him. Still keeping his mouth shut, he manages to smile at Ezekiel while patting his hand comfortingly. He gives Dinah a wary look, and then looks about at her family before launching himself up from his brother’s hand to his shoulder. He climbs like a monkey then settles on his shoulder, clinging his collar to keep him stable.
Vedis Boyd lets out a soft sound as she is squeezed, looking up at his gasp. Seeing the look in his eyes she would place a palm on his chest, the soothing roll of her own domain spilling over him. She had no need to worry about the masquerade now, she used that borrowed power to help him cope with that mouthful of aetherite. She could feel that grip on her bending her ribs and she choked softly, "Lewis..." she whispers, "I can't... breathe." she was trying not to draw attention to his reaction, her own far more subtle, having only had a sip. She slips her legs back down to the ground, pressing against him to whisper in his ear, that shimmering power seeming to pull from her flesh to drape like an ephemeral spider's web across his skin. She could not weave illusions like he could, but she was damn good at what she did do. Drystan's smile would have been noticed, her gaze looking back to Lewis as she tries to pull from his tight hold upon her, far too aware of the people in the club to allow him to continue.
Dorian (alexandros.lycomedes) got his drink, and knocked half of it back. He was just barely finished chugging it down when he needed to laugh at the white-winged man's excitement. Narrowly he avoided a spittake, and murmured after, "Goodness, gracious." He'd shove the new down to Drystan and then follow his sister's eye to wave at the tall dark man at the end of the bar who was not his kin. He'd turn and shout his brother's way, "When's the last time you danced, huh?"
Hector: eased when November relaxed. He offered a toothy smile and played with one of his lip piercings. "Mm hmm..." Then he tilted his head and looked November up and down with a genuine smile. "I think you're beautiful. And that's not just me blowing smoke." He winked and puffed out a bit of smoke from his cigarette in a teasing way. "A lot of Necromancers are assholes, but I didn't study this. I was born with it. I don't like forcing anyone to do anything...least of all the Dead. They're my friends. The ones that follow me, do so because they want to." Then he furled his brows. "Though that Goat Man in the cemetery is an asshole and mean to the dead, so be careful if you're out there strolling." Huffs lightly and then tilts his head, glancing to Drystan. "Drystan! Good to see you! How are you feeling?" He smiled big before chuckling to Dinah. "Yeah, just give me all of yours and you'll never have to be offended by them again." Shrugs and then nods to Dorian. "How are you Dori?" He nodded to
Hector: the Pixie when he bowed and then watched him climb up the white one that was apparently his brother, completely oblivious that Vedis is even nearby.
Drystan Windgrace (jacksonn.shepherd) drank down the champagne like water, and caught the slider sent to him by his brother, something a little stronger, which was fine by him. He leaned over and spoke out of the corner of his mouth, "I'd say....a least a week? With you! Besides that, you know i'm not a big dancer." He took up another large gulp of his drink and raised his glass to Hector, which he wasn't sure how to even approach. "Just fine, thanks." He offered a little smile and just stuck his nose in the glass watching the pixies and all that dust. Probably a good thing he wasnt alleric to anything.
November Morsus laughed aloud at Ezekiel's new nickname for him, his low voice booming with mirth. "Well, if /that's/ not a spot-on title for one such as myself, though perhaps for more reasons than may have been intended." A devilish little grin crossed his face, before returning the wave from the pleasant looking young blonde man by the bar. "Good evening, dear, I don't believe we've met. Dr. November Morsus, at your service... Oh! Drystan! Hello, dear. Thank you muchly for being so very helpful in the park the other evening, I do hope you are well." He smiled cheerfully, his long ears wriggling in delight, before shaking his head to Hector. "It's not really necromancers I find so very frightful, poor dears get such terrible press. It's the, er..." His voice dropped as if he were mentioning some embarrassing bodily function. "...Exorcism. I think that's the one thing that could truly end my time on this earth, and I simply can't be having that, not when there's so much more work to be done..."
Dorian (alexandros.lycomedes) was trying very hard not to ogle anyone, but there were quite a few unusual features on display. Enough to distract him from purely staring in awe at his brother and sister. He knocked back the other half of his drink trying to catch Hector's eye to give him a wink. He called back to his brother, "Fair play to you, you got me there. You are rather livelier on your feet than looks possible."
Drystan got a tongue stuck out at him.
Lewis Berkshire: Vedis' timely offer of equilibrium in the form of her welcoming power was fortuitous, for himself and her and frankly everyone else. There were still pitfalls he came across from time to time in his extensive travels and even one of his experience could be caught unawares. A humble lesson indeed, likely one that would be ignored once again when the right conditions presented themselves. For now however he realized he needed to deal with this unexpected effect somewhere with less distractions. He had a tough decision to make, frowning at Vedis even as she soothed him, only belatedly realizing the clench of his hand, forcing his grip to relax and release her side. He sighed between his teeth, shooting her a rare look of apology, not a common sight from this man who seemed steeped in arrogance and privilege. The gossamer web of her energies served to calm him enough to lean in for another whisper without giving into his frenzied pack of urges. "I...need to step outside. Clear my head. I will wait for you by the
Lewis Berkshire: entrance...I am not such a cad as to drag you off." He could sense her enjoyment of this place and he was loath to ruin her mood yet again. He had done so too many times of late and no doubt would in the future. This evening at least he could spare her his unreasonable demands and consequences. He narrowed his eyes at her however, gleaming through the glasses where only she could see the bright rings of green and gold boring into her, "Will you be alright? I will be just outside the building." He might sound like he was trying to reassure himself more than her, that one sip of liquid magic having unsettled this normally well composed man to unfamiliar uncertainty. But he was already rising to his feet, letting her go entirely with clear reluctance, but tension boiled through his posture, snatching up his cane as if he wanted to thrash everyone within range or carry off his companion over his shoulder or both...and frankly looked capable of all that despite his veneer of age and supposedly wisdom. Lewis kept
Lewis Berkshire: his attention locked to Vedis and her answer, the implication that she needed to leave with him now or he would wait for her, per his promise, the only compromise he could safely follow in this moment. Most of his strain and inner conflict would not be noticable on the outside of him, only the most sensitive or attentive might notice an issue at all. Berkshire unfortunately had to ride this wave as responsibly as possible, but that was never his true agenda...He snagged the damn alluring cup and drained half its contents before handing it back to her and gave her a wordless challenge with his stare, leaning on his cane to keep it grounded.
Ezekiel Coyn seemed completely overwhelmed by the sight of is brother's distress to the point that the berries he'd been eating on had been dropped to the floor in his lunge toward his brother. "Y-yes! This is my brother. He is tiny right now, but he can also be like me too." He mentioned to her with a smile looking back to Elijah with the absolute most worried expression he could give. He regretted not just putting Elijah into his pocket in the first place! He should have just done that until he woke up! He would let his brother climb him like a spider monkey and settle on his shoulder. A happy little noise leaving his lips as he smiles. "Elijah says hello!" He declared with a warm smile. "This is Dinah! And Dorian! And her other brother!" who's name he hadn't gotten yet, but there it was. "And that is the great horned one! " he said pointing toward november. "There was another one like us singing, but he went behind the curtain. Probably to polish his butt cheeks. They were extra sparkling." He noted. "Oh do
Ezekiel Coyn he need someone to dance with? " He wondered looking toward the other brother then back to the twins not them. "They're twins too Elijah! Look look!" He said pointing toward the two nearby. "OH by the way!" he declared pulling some of the berries he'd stolen from the bar out of his pocket. What was left of them anyway. Offering one over to his brother. "Before we go home i want you to drink one of those aether drinks okay? It might help a bit where I can't y'know. Sippie sip."
Dinah (dollihead) smiled at dorian's invitation to dance, though she laughed gently. She leaned in to whisper something against his ear with a brief, wolfish grin and sipped at her own glass, giggling at her brothers. "that's never stopped either of us from dancing before." she quirked an intrigued brow when the tall, horned one seemed to know her brother and was introducing himself to the other, and she perked up, "you two are rascals" she pulled herself up to perch on the bar, grinning at Hector's words. "I have a lot of things like that. Dorian and Drystan both take my share of whiskey too, to spare me, the merciful darlings" she giggled, giving November a friendly "hello~"
As Elijah was introduced, she smiled and gestured to her brothers in turn "The unknown one is Drystan. Drystan, Dorian, this is elijah and ezekiel. theyre twins too! small world, isnt it?"
Drystan Windgrace (jacksonn.shepherd) lifts his glass to the tall horny one and just nods deeply to him. He wasn't sure what all he had done, for him but he was certainly glad to not piss anyone else off. He leaned and asked for another drink and took it while shoving quite the large tip and enough pound notes to cover all his and his families drinks, and whoever else might need a hand. It wasn't a flashy move, he actually quite disliked the actual handling of money. Then Dorian goes calling him out. He rubbed the side of his face and got his next drink, smashing out the near dead joint in ah ashtray, and pulled out another hand rolled, though it was somewhat stuck to the other, ..he had taken time earlier in the day to roll himself some up with the royal honey off the last shipment, So the raw paper was a bit sticky still. He tore the end off it, where the clump was stuck. He tossed it at the bad and lifted a hand to do a very "Her ROyal Highness" type wave since he was being introduced all around. He nodded over at the other twins and
Drystan Windgrace (jacksonn.shepherd): pursed his mouth. "Yes, small...small world."
Hector: nods when November says that Necromancers get a bad rap, but then holds up his hands and waves them back and forth. "Whoa, whoa! Hey, I don't go around doing that willy nilly. I don't enjoy doing it at all. The restless dead is one thing, but someone who is perfectly fine where they are, is another. I mean my uh..." What WAS Bela?? "I'm dating someone that's technically dead and not in the vampirism way. Like, dead dead, ya know? Has no intention of moving on, kinda dead. We have the whole 'if I ever lose myself you send me' pact, but not before. I'm not the police. And I'm certainly not a God. If anything, I'm more like...a counselor? I help people cross over if they want to, or if someone is a danger to others and they NEED to go. I don't like the latter, but sometimes it has to be done. Here especially it's...complicated. With the Gate being closed and apparently there being a rip in the Veil." He frowned big. "A balance needs to be maintained. When the dead outnumber the living...you
Hector: get things like what happened in the park the other day." He sighed and let his shoulders slump, his wings doing the same, drooping down and sending a few black feathers to the floor in sadness. Winks back to Dorian and smiles before tilting his head to Drystan. "Not much of a dancer? I mean...maybe I could tempt you? If not to dance with me...maybe I could play something that would get your toes tapping." He glanced back to Dinah. "What about the song of the Devil and his Golden Fiddle?" Hector is still completely oblivious to the 'weirdness' that happened the other night and that's just fine. The ghosts were content to keep the secret so long as there were no more mind whammies. Hopefully the Windgraces were more apt to trust Hector now, but only time would tell. Something moved out of the corner of his eye and he was surprised to see a man moving off with a cane. Didn't he see that guy at the bonfire? Was that Vedis? But then he was distracted by the pixie boys again, blinking back to them
Hector: with a frown. "Is your brother OK? I'm a healer and I have some potions in my bag. Nothing crazy but...if you'd like..." He wiggled his black tipped fingers. Like Eli, Hector was all shadow and dark sparkles, literally he did have sparkles around his head.
Vedis Boyd nods as Lewis stands, watching him rise with concern, not even paying attention to her own reaction to the drink. She touches his hand as he makes mention of waiting outside for her and she squeaks in protest as he takes half the rest of the drink himself! Once she got her glass back she would keep it well out of his reach, not that it would have worked should he have truly desired to drink the rest of it, but she nods, "I won't be long." she murmurs, just over the music. She stands herself, smoothing down her skirts with one hand while still holding that glass juuuust out of his reach. She takes a step... pauses as the room seems to shift around her, then smiles as it finally settles. She straightens and makes her way over to the bar. If nothing else, to return the glass... once she had finished the last of the shot. Her skin sparkling as it follows the drink all the way down. Oh... she was going to have troubles with this stuff... that much she could tell without super secret psychic powers. That shit w
Vedis Boyd goooood. She didn't trust November, spooky fuck he is, so she made her way to the far end of the bar and steps up beside Drystan, waiting to catch the bartender's attention.
Dorian (alexandros.lycomedes) kept a very civil and grinning face on as he moved to reply in time to Dinah's introduction, he opened his mouth to say something but Drystan had sniped him. This filled his talking hole with laughter, sent him nodding, and he'd bend to kiss his sister's head again. He silently informed her that he was going to dance and could not wait any longer, then turned to do that. He'd declared his intentions, his toe had been tapping and he did not come down here just to talk and drink. Before her was all done to the floor, he'd call to the winged twins, "An uncommon pleasure, truly."
November Morsus chortled at the gigantic outpouring of exuberant energy coming from Ezekiel. "An absolute pleasure to make acquaintences with the lot of you, truly it is," he purred, offering a pleasant smile to Dinah as she introduced herself as well. "Dinah, is it? Lovely to meet you, dear. So the lot of you are family, then?" His head cocked, curious, before turning back to Hector. "Goodness, but I am relieved to hear that," he said with a shaky sigh, the last bit of tension leaving him at last, "I'm in a rather, er, similar situation to your partner there, I lost my life about a hundred years ago, but I simply couldn't bring myself to move on, not with things as they were. Brought myself back to corporeal form through the art of fleshcraft, and, well, here I stand. I do wish you and yours the best, always heartening to hear assurance that love can exist after life's long gone...." As Vedis approached the far end of the bar, he offered her a pleasant, oblivious smile.
Lewis Berkshire: Lewis watched Vedis go towards the bar with her drink he had deliberately diminished to his own determent with an almost grim unreadable expression. But his hidden stare raked over the occupants in the room, assessing each for possible trouble and coming up with too many possibilities. He hadn't time to stand here any longer, the double edged sword of his abilities finally lashing back at him and the cacophany was deafening, too many avenues of information to take in, now his senses had been heightned to a suddenly painful degree. He turned with effort, tearing his eyes from Vedis' comely back and then realized he would have to use his cane for more than just an affectation to get out of the door of this troublesome establishment. He grit his teeth and clacked his way out with surprising grace to anyone paying attention...but he was swaying slightly despite his best efforts. That gulp had been unwise, but it would be worse if he stayed in here tonight. Colors gained taste, sounds felt strange, scents were
Lewis Berkshire: making music in his head...and he wanted to follow every one of his instincts tonight....So...Time to go. The silver fox departed the cabaret to clear his head in the cooler night air and await his companion when she was done for the night. Despite everything and everything he was, he was still a gentleman.
Drystan Windgrace (jacksonn.shepherd) sat his empty and called the waiter over and thumbed at Vedis, "Will you get her whatever she wasts, a bottle of it? and don't ever leave a lady waiting again, got it?" His forehead was stern and crinkled, and he took a long drag off his smoke. and blew it over his shoulder, probably giving everyone a nice healthy contact high if they were capable. He shook his head as if bothered. "I"m sorry Vedis, they serve whoever seems to tip the best. its a sham." He turned and watched his brother dance away.
Dinah (dollihead) laughed at Hectors' words and she shook her head. Perched on the bar, she grinned "maybe when theyre more drunk" she suggested. Watching her twin go to dance, a fond expression touched her face and she watched him, kicking her feet in time with his movement. Novembers' greeting had her smiling adn she nodded
"We are, yes. Drystan is my elder brother. Dorian, the fast footed one over there, he is my twin" she grinned. "A pleasure to meet you~" she bounced down from the bar and she smiled.
"Darlings, I am going to take a little fresh air. i've been down here for a while. It was lovely to see everyone. Dorian, darling, help me with the ladder?" she set her glass down, sauntering towards the exit.
Ezekiel Coyn "Drystan! That's it!" he declared as if he already knew it and had merely forgotten it. "Drystan, Dorian, Dinah. Triple D! I like it!" he declared. Mostly because it made their names a bit easier for his two brain cells to remember. Sparks were happening with the rubbing of those cells together. "Things like what happened the other day?" Ezekiel questioned hector. Yep he was being nosy. Though the question about his brother's well being he would nod a bit. "He is alive yes. I will keep him safe until he is fully healed. " he told them as he looked to his brother with a nod. "Your twin has happy feet! " He declared with a cheerful laugh. "It is nice to meet you too great horny one! " he declared toward November. Hearing November's story his eyes widdened like saucers. "WOAH. So you're like... a zombie... ? Are you going to eat our brains?" Not that there was much to eat on Ezekiel's end. He would lean his head slightly to brush his jaw against his brother's tiny head. Careful not to pinch or squish hi
Ezekiel Coyn in the process. <If you do I will put you in my pants and take you home. I won't let anyone hurt you nor will I leave you behind. > he promised him telepathically. Ezekiel looked toward Hector at Elijah's unvocalized question was asked to him. "Nah man. I got it. He's mine to take care of. " He spoke over-protectively and perhaps a bit possessively as well. He would smile toward Dinah as she started to depart and he would wave to her energetically. "Take careeee!" he chimed turning to step with his brother toward the bar. Sadly his foot hit the fallen ice and went out from under him. There was a clatter and a thump as he grabbed onto the table nearby. Barely keeping himself from hitting the ground. A small puff of flame singing his coat's edges before extinguishing. "AH NO ! I JUST TEMPORARILY RELOCATED THIS! " he declared with disappointment as he looked to his shoulder. "Are you okay?"
Dorian (alexandros.lycomedes) stopped flinging himself around the floor when beckoned by his sibling, and went to do his brotherly diligence in getting his sister back up to street level without her needing to strain herself, or dirty her dress. That done, and certain promises made to her and kisses plied to her cheeks, he'd come back to check upon his other sibling. Staring his way from teh dance floor.
Vedis Boyd snaps her eyes to Drystan as he calls out to the bartender for her, shocked. The soft cloud of his smoke filtering down from above her. Oh, she knew that smell. She bites her lip to hide a smile as she looks back to the bartender as he hurries over, "I don't need a whole bottle." she reassures him quietly, "Just another shot of that..." she sets the drink with the last dregs of golden aetherite at the bottom and she smiles. Now that the master of illusions was gone she was having far more trouble with hers, earning her 'glowbug' nickname. She rest both of her hands on the edge of the bar and leans forward with a soft giggle. She waves to Dinah as she makes to leave, "G'night Ms. Windgrace! Sleep well!" oh my, that was a bit too loud and cheerful. She sees November give her a smile and despite the fact her entire skin tried to crawl off her body at the sight of it, she simply smiles and offers him a wave. She was far too polite to do anything else. She takes her golden shot as it is passed to her and nods
Vedis Boyd thanks, glancing to the pixie before her gaze lands on Drystan once more, "Thank you, sir." she says over the music, "He did seem rather busy." she takes a sip of that drink, her illusion shifting like heat lines around her as she swallows. Again, that soft puff of golden smoke slipping from her lips in response to the drink as she exhales.
Hector: stops and looks November up and down when he says he recreated his own body through Fleshcrafting. "Really?" He wet his lips and then shifted a little. "Umm...hmm...may you and I speak about your talents at another time? I have...an idea. A surprise for my significant other that would require someone that knows their way around..." Finger wiggle. "Flesh." And he left it at that, turning back to the others in the room. Chuckles at Dinah when she says to wait until they were more drunk. He gave her a wink and a thumbs up. "You bet. Enjoy the rest of your night Dinah." When Ezekiel said he was going to take care of his tiny brother, Hector shrugged. "All right. If you change your mind, let me know." And then there was fire and shouting and he just sort of took a step back, wrapping his wings around himself with a bit of a half cough. He shook his head and stuffed his hands back into his pockets, looking to the bar longingly before shaking his head, nope, not drinking. A long exhale and he was
Hector: considering leaving as well. Maybe taking a walk to clear his head of wanting to drink.
November Morsus offers a small smile and wave to poor Eli, but can see the shyness in the little creature, and gracefully allows him to hide. He waves farewell to Dinah before Ezekiel's exclamation has him sputtering a choked laugh. "A /zombie?/ Oh, good heavens no, dear. I've got more than enough brain left in my old skull to go gallivanting off after yours, no need to fear, no need to fear at all..." He shook his head, grinning, delighted, before offering a pleasant little wave back to Vedis. What a nice young woman! Leaning in as Hector murmured, he smiled, nodded. "Why, what a lovely idea! I would be well pleased to assist you in offering your partner a nice gift, always happy to offer my arts to a friend... Though, oh, goodness, is that the time?" Wide brown eyes blinked at the clock. "Goodness, I should really get back to the academy, got a load of papers to grade before the week is through, and that's between shifts at Eumenides... I do so hate to depart so abruptly, but, I'm afraid needs must. All the same, it wa
November Morsus so very lovely to see you, and I do hope you'll come calling again." With a gentle smile and a bow of his horned head, he made to depart from the cabaret, and back to the insane work schedule he'd inflicted upon himself. ((I gotta run too, but it was great playing with you all while I could! ;w; /))
Drystan Windgrace (jacksonn.shepherd) waved his hand and smiled a her, "no problem. Guy's can be real jerks in dives. Get a lady slingin bottles and you have a much happier bar." He took a deep breath and watched as his sister and brother left. Well. He absently played with his rings in his coat pocket that he'd not even bothered removing. a sign. "If you'll excuse me miss..." He took a few steps away and then just headed to the exit, head down.
Quin Li (riven.rowe): Eli lifts a hand in a little shrug toward Hector. He isn’t sure that healing can undo the damage that had been done to him. He has been drained of his Aether, starved – until for a moment? He’d died. Its not a very great memory. Eli lifts a hand to his mouth and chews on a knuckle, purple eyes widening as he peers about. There are .. a lot of people here. And he is very squishable right now. Bid head bobs though, at Zeke. He won’t leave him behind. Of course he won’t. But the protective, somewhat possessive words that come from him in regard to Eli gets him a look. He might have said something to Zeke but suddenly his brother is slipping and his stable mount is bucking beneath him. Eli releases a soft Meep! And falls back, slipping down Zekes back and getting tangled up in the soft fur he’s hugging on his way down toward the ground. He huffs softly then launches away. Becoming airborne with a swirl of darkly rainbow sparkles. His hands find his hips and for a moment, just a moment, he pulls a
Quin Li (riven.rowe): Peter Pan. Then he is flitting toward the bar top and stalking up and down its sticky length in an attempt to get the bar tender’s attention. It would probably be smart to give him attention. He might dust the bartender I he doesn’t.
